WOVEN WOOD SHADES
What was once the practical, casual bamboo shade has been transformed into a window treatment attractive enough for any room in your house, while declaring your preference for natural, long-lasting materials.
The most significant enhancement is the huge variety of weaves available, using woods, grasses, and yarns as well as bamboos of varying colors and dimensions. Some of the weaves allow you to see to the outside, while others provide privacy. There are selections in shade style as well. You can still have, if you wish, the old-fashioned roll-from-the bottom shade. Nowadays, however, most people prefer one of the Roman shade styles: either a flat Roman shade which, as its name implies, is flat when it is lowered all the way; or a hobbled Roman shade which retains the Roman style fold even when it is lowered. The top-down/bottom up style which is so popular in cellular shades is also available in woven woods. This versatile design allows you to cover just the bottom part of your window when you choose, as well as to open or close the shade completely.
If you'd like to coordinate your treatments for windows of different sizes and shapes, including perhaps a patio door, woven woods have some perfect possibilities. In most cases, the same woven wood pattern that is in your shades can be made into vertical blinds or into Averte Natural Fold blinds. We feature woven woods by Prestige, Kirsch, and B & W Manufacturing.
